2024: Simonsfeld wind power sets new production record
Some very good news at the start of the year: the wind and solar power plants of the Windkraft Simonsfeld Group produced a total of 758.3 million kWh of clean electricity in 2024, setting a new record. At the same time, we were able to exceed our planned result by 6.4% and the previous year's production result by around 11.8%. We exceeded the previous year's figure for the third time in a row. Total production in 2024 corresponds to the annual electricity requirements of 190,000 households.
The main reasons for the excellent production result were, on the one hand, a very good wind year and, on the other, the first full-year operation of our three wind turbines in Dürnkrut. As a result, we were once again able to make a significant contribution to secure and independent electricity production in the country.
In 2025, our new wind farm in Wilfersdorf, which was commissioned in fall 2024, will add an annual production volume for the first time.
