2026: Now More Than Ever! — A Joint Start to the New Year
We kicked off 2026 together this week with our annual town hall meeting. Under the theme “2026: Now More Than Ever,” the start of the year was all about looking back, looking ahead, and above all, feeling optimistic.

2025 was a year full of activity. We achieved a great deal, made progress on key projects, and demonstrated as a team what is possible when expertise, commitment, and solidarity come together. At the same time, we know that the operating environment remains challenging. This made it all the more important to not only look back on our successes at the town hall meeting, but also to speak openly about opportunities, risks, and our next steps.
Our Contribution to the Energy Transition
Our Chief Technology Officer, Markus Winter, provided a comprehensive overview of Windkraft Simonsfeld’s ongoing and planned projects both in Germany and abroad. The diversity and scale of our projects clearly demonstrate that we think long-term—and we act consistently. Looking beyond national borders makes it clear just how significant our contribution to the energy transition already is today and what potential still lies ahead.
Responsible, Forward-Looking Management
Our Chief Financial Officer, Alexander Hochauer, then shed light on the financial outlook: How can and do we want to finance our projects? What leeway do we have, and where does special care need to be taken? Here, too, the message was clear: For us, ambition and responsibility go hand in hand. Responsible, forward-looking management is the foundation for achieving our goals in a sustainable and reliable manner.
Challenges Facing the Wind Power Industry
The presentation by Gerhard Maier, Head of Communications at IG Windkraft, also provided valuable insight beyond our immediate focus. He spoke openly about the industry’s current challenges and made it clear how much the public discourse surrounding wind energy is often shaped by emotionally charged and, in some cases, deliberately spread misinformation. At the same time, he demonstrated that it is indeed possible to effectively counter fake news if we stay the course.
What makes our Town Hall Meeting special time and again is not just the content, but the shared sense that we’re on this journey together. 2026 won’t be a sure thing—but we’re starting out with motivation, clarity, and a strong team. That’s exactly what it takes to achieve our long-term goals, step by step.
Or to put it another way: 2026—now more than ever!
