A showpiece for Simonsfeld wind power
When facts meet creativity, the result is a real gem. Windkraft Simonsfeld won the award in the ‘Digital Communication’ category at the first Glanzstücke Awards presented by the PRVA (Public Relations Association Austria).

The award went to our project ‘Fact Check with Windkraft Simonsfeld’ – a video format launched in 2023 in collaboration with actress, singer and UNICEF ambassador Valerie Huber. As a ‘windfluencer’, she summarises the most important facts about wind energy. The fact check has since evolved: in addition to wind power, it now also focuses on topics such as the energy transition, sustainability and employer responsibility.
‘Our goal with the fact check was to dispel fake news, build trust and raise awareness of climate issues and the energy transition – in a fresh, understandable and entertaining way,’ explains Birgitt Kleinschek, Head of Communications. ‘Together with our windfluencer Valerie Huber, we convey information with emotion and ease – and thus appeal to target groups that we would hardly reach through traditional channels.’
Windkraft Simonsfeld uses creative digital formats to make renewable energies accessible to a wide audience. The videos are used not only on social media, but also in communities and educational institutions.
‘When I had the idea three years ago, I never thought it would turn into such a powerful and successful project. It is high time that we all understand how urgent climate protection is now – and this is exactly where we want to raise awareness with the fact check,’ says Vanessa Leißer-Schodl, project manager of the fact check. ‘The beauty of digital communication is that it opens new doors – and that's exactly what the fact check has done for us. This project is truly close to our hearts – and we are proud of what we have achieved as a small team together with Valerie and our partner Martin Krachler.’
The Glanzstücke Awards recognise outstanding individual achievements in communication. Only a few projects were honoured out of a total of 65 submissions – so we are all the more delighted that our fact check is one of them.
And the story continues: the third season of the fact check will be released next year – with new topics, exciting facts and a breath of fresh air for the energy transition.
