Company headquarters honoured as a showcase project for
sustainable construction
Yesterday, klimaaktiv, an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (BMWET), honoured exemplary sustainable construction projects in Lower Austria. Among the 60 buildings that received the prestigious seal of approval for outstanding climate protection, only three achieved the highest possible rating – one of which was our company headquarters in Ernstbrunn.

The awards were presented by Deputy Governor Stephan Pernkopf and Elisabeth Zehetner, State Secretary for Energy, at the Krems University Campus.
"With the expansion of our company headquarters, we have created a forward-looking office building that is designed to be sustainable and resource-efficient throughout. There are only a few projects in Austria that have been awarded the highest possible number of points by klimaaktiv – we are very pleased about this and it confirms our claim to set new standards here," said Markus Winter, Chief Technology Officer at Windkraft Simonsfeld.
Klimaaktiv GOLD standard achieved: 1,000 out of 1,000 points
Klimaaktiv Austria awarded the building the Klimaaktiv GOLD standard for its implementation and planning with the highest possible number of points – 1,000 out of 1,000. The ‘klimaaktiv building standard’ is considered the benchmark for energy-efficient, resource-saving and sustainable construction. With over 2,000 certified buildings to date, it is the most successful seal of quality for sustainable construction in Austria.
After a construction period of just under 1.5 years, the building was completed in autumn 2024. The project was planned by the architectural firm Juri Troy ZT GmbH under the project management of M.O.O.CON. Total investment: €11 million.
