Construction of our

photovoltaic system in Klement has begun

This week, we began the first phase of construction for our new photovoltaic system in Klement, in the market town of Ernstbrunn. Over the next two weeks, the mounting structures will first be anchored into the ground, followed by the installation of the solar modules.

“With this current construction project in Klement, we are working together with regional partners not only to contribute to our community’s sustainable energy supply. Through targeted nature conservation measures, the power plant will also be enhanced as a habitat for animals and plants,” emphasizes project manager Christian Harrach. An existing Pannonian dry grassland on the former excavated soil landfill will be preserved and enhanced as a biotope through the planting of more than seven hundred shrubs and trees. A deadwood hedge planted with willow saplings will provide additional shelter for rare species such as the barred warbler, which nests nearby. In addition, natural stone piles will be used to create additional habitats for reptiles.

The electricity generated will be fed into the grid via a substation operated by EVN Netz GmbH that was built last year. The system has an installed rated capacity of 973 kWp and a maximum feed-in capacity of 500 kW. Electrify GmbH, based in Wolkersdorf in the Weinviertel region, has been commissioned to handle the detailed planning and implementation. The amount of electricity that the Klement photovoltaic system will generate is equivalent to the annual consumption of 268 households. The first solar power will be fed into the grid in April.
