Cooperation & outlook- Nordex visits Windkraft Simonsfeld

Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex and Windkraft Simonsfeld continue their successful partnership. During talks at the new Windkraft Simonsfeld headquarters, existing and new projects were discussed and the good cooperation was reaffirmed.

In the recently opened wind farm in Wilfersdorf, in a cooperation project with ImWind, five Nordex wind turbines have been in operation since the fall, producing around 73 million kWh of green electricity per year. The four Nordex N163 turbines, each with a rated output of 6.8 MW, and one N133 with a rated output of 4.8 MW generate enough electricity to meet the annual needs of over 19,000 households.

This and other projects were the subject of the meeting between Windkraft Simonsfeld and Nordex. In a lively exchange, the existing and future cooperation was discussed and the potential of wind power in Austria as well as the current challenges were discussed. Nordex also presented new turbine technologies and the further technical development of the turbines.

Nordex has been a successful company in the industry for over 35 years and is therefore a competent partner for Windkraft Simonsfeld. Sustainability is practiced in both companies and forms the core of their daily activities. There are often joint efforts on topics such as short and climate-friendly transport routes or extending the service life of the turbines, and there are already concrete plans for the next cooperation: In the wind farm in Sigmundsherberg, 6 turbines and in Wullersdorf 5 turbines have already been approved by Nordex in the first instance.
