Experiencing climate action in a playful way – our partnership with Climate Alliance is growing

Since 2020, Windkraft Simonsfeld has been a supporting member of Climate Alliance Austria and thus part of Austria’s largest climate action network. In addition, for several years we have been supporting the Climate Alliance organisations in Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Salzburg in providing educational programmes that make climate action understandable and tangible.
One project that has emerged from this collaboration is the Climate Escape Box. In 2023, we co-financed boxes for Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Salzburg. Since then, they have been regularly used in workshops with young people and adults.

Similar to an escape room, participants work together to solve challenging puzzles and find a way out of the climate crisis. In the process, they explore topics such as climate change adaptation, climate justice and climate communication in an engaging and interactive way. The box is suitable for school classes from grade 10 onwards as well as for adults.
Our partnership continues to grow
In 2026, Climate Alliance Tyrol became another regional organisation to join our partnership. Workshops with the Climate Escape Box are now also being held there. Apprentices from Pirlo in Kufstein experienced first-hand just how important teamwork is during an internal training session:
“During the escape game, it quickly became clear that you can’t get very far on your own. Everyone had different ideas, and that’s exactly what helped us move forward. Just like a wind turbine needs many different parts working together to get things moving, the same is true for climate action.”
A comparison that also sums up our long-standing collaboration with Climate Alliance perfectly: Climate action works best when we work together.
