1,000 visitors at the opening of our new office building

Windkraft Simonsfeld hosted a big house opening party at the company headquarters in Ernstbrunn. In glorious spring weather, the company opened its doors to the public, partners and all those involved in the realisation of the new office building.

More than 1,000 guests accepted the invitation to familiarise themselves with the new ‘House of the Future’. In addition to guided tours of the office building, visitors were able to take a look behind the scenes of the wind power pioneer with regional catering, music and personal discussions.

A building where good energy is at home
‘With this celebration, we wanted to thank all those who made the project possible - and at the same time show how we work and think at Windkraft Simonsfeld: open, sustainable and with strong regional roots,’ explains Markus Winter, Chief Technology Officer at Windkraft Simonsfeld. "With the expansion, we are not only investing in the climate and energy transition, but also in attractive green jobs and modern apprenticeships. We have already constructed our existing building as an innovative building, and now 10 years later we have been able to open the next lighthouse project together with companions, the public and politicians."

"With the expansion of our office building, we have realised an ecological flagship project that is uncompromisingly 360 degrees sustainable. The combination of existing and new buildings creates an innovative workspace with state-of-the-art working conditions for our growing team. We are delighted that we have now been able to celebrate this pioneering office building with the local population, our partners and the Windkraft Simonsfeld team - as a reference project for buildings of the future and as a place of openness and encounter," adds Alexander Hochauer, CFO of Windkraft Simonsfeld.

The new building also symbolises the further development of the company structure, modern working environments and sustainable construction: The project is characterised by timber construction, a photovoltaic system, spacious communal areas and maximum energy efficiency. Architect Juri Troy explains: "The building was constructed entirely from environmentally friendly, regional and recycled materials. Geothermal probes, thermally activated clay walls and a photovoltaic system ensure a sophisticated energy concept with a minimal ecological footprint."

Investment in regional jobs
Gerhard Toifl, Mayor of Ernstbrunn, was also delighted: "The extension to the company headquarters is a really impressive building - a great job has been done. But it is the people who work here who fill it with life, ideas and community. The House Opening Party was a strong sign of this clear commitment to the Ernstbrunn site - and of regional responsibility in action."

Voices for climate protection and the future
A particular highlight was the visit by actress, UNICEF Honorary Representative and windfluencer Valerie Huber, who read from the book ‘FOMO Sapiens - Are we missing out on a perfect world?’ as part of the event and inspired the audience with an engaging presentation:

"For many of my generation, one thing is clear: climate protection is non-negotiable - we want to be an active part of the solution. Windkraft Simonsfeld lives exactly this spirit, which was clearly evident at today's opening. It's great to see that a place has been created here that is not only ecologically built, but also offers space for co-design, new ideas and real prospects for the future. This is encouraging - and shows that change and responsibility can go hand in hand. Windkraft Simonsfeld is leading the way - now the rest of the country must follow suit," says Valerie Huber.

Karl Wilfing, President of the Provincial Parliament, was also impressed and praised Windkraft Simonsfeld as a model company in the Weinviertel: "The WEINviertel has always been a WINDviertel - and Lower Austria has been a real pioneer since the beginning of renewable energies. One third of our clean electricity in Lower Austria is now produced by wind power. Even if we don't always like them, one thing is certain: we need wind turbines - for the energy transition, for jobs and for regional value creation. Windkraft Simonsfeld is a strong partner in this endeavour and we are proud to have such a flagship company in the Weinviertel!"

The House Opening Party impressively demonstrated how sustainable construction, regional roots and a joint commitment to the energy transition form a strong whole. For Windkraft Simonsfeld, the new headquarters is not just a building - it is a place where the future is being shaped.
