Support for education
and renewable energy in Togo
Since 2023, Windkraft Simonsfeld has been supporting the expansion of training programmes in photovoltaics and solar thermal energy in central Togo together with the Urbis Foundation. The cooperation is planned to run until 2027 and combines technical training with concrete local projects.

As part of the cooperation, teaching materials, training costs and materials for practical installations are being financed. During their training, participants put their newly acquired knowledge directly into practice by installing photovoltaic and solar thermal systems, including at schools and hospitals. In this way, not only do the trainees gain valuable hands-on experience, but the respective institutions also benefit from a sustainable energy supply.
Another focus is on supporting participants as they enter working life. For particularly successful graduates, internships and basic technical equipment are co-financed to help them start their professional careers or become self-employed.
With this cooperation, we aim to contribute to the long-term local transfer of knowledge about renewable energy while at the same time creating new education and career opportunities. A sustainable energy transition requires not only technology, but above all people with the know-how needed to put it into practice.
