We’re celebrating “Volunteer Appreciation Day”

When the volunteer fire department is called out, sports clubs organize practices, or social projects need support, many Windkraft Simonsfeld employees are there to help. Their commitment doesn’t end when the workday is over—it’s an integral part of their daily lives.

Support for Volunteer Work

To mark Volunteer Appreciation Day on April 20, Windkraft Simonsfeld is highlighting the diverse range of volunteer work undertaken by its employees.

To provide the best possible support for volunteer activities—such as those with emergency services or social organizations—Windkraft Simonsfeld has established clear guidelines: Employees can use up to 17 hours per calendar year for such activities. In addition, up to 8.5 hours per year are available for relevant continuing education.

The figures show that this offer is being taken up: In 2025, Windkraft Simonsfeld employees volunteered for approximately 65 hours.

Volunteerism as Part of Corporate Culture and Strategy

Since its founding 30 years ago, Windkraft Simonsfeld’s mission has been rooted in taking on social responsibility. An internal survey confirms just how deeply this ethos is embedded in the company: The majority of employees are active outside of work in clubs or as volunteers—particularly in volunteer fire departments, sports clubs, social initiatives, or local community work.

“Volunteering is an important contribution to our society, and we see it as our responsibility to support this commitment as best we can,” says Alexander Hochauer, CEO of Windkraft Simonsfeld. “It shows just how much dedication and team spirit there is in our team.”

Corporate Volunteering and Teamwork

The company also creates opportunities for employees to get involved as part of their daily work: In 2025, over 40 employees participated in corporate volunteering projects, collectively contributing 260 hours to social and environmental initiatives, such as the Kolpinghaus, the WWF, kindergartens, and animal welfare organizations.
