Windkraft Simonsfeld at the Vienna Climate Run 2025
– Running together for the climate
On 11 October 2025, the time had come: Vienna sent a strong signal for climate protection, biodiversity and sustainable habitats at the Vienna Climate Run. Windkraft Simonsfeld also took part and achieved an excellent 2nd place in the group ranking.
Under the motto ‘We're getting climate protection moving’, over 800 adults and 400 children took part in the run. With each lap of the main run, 1.5 m² of forest area around the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site Dürrenstein-Lassingtal was permanently protected, securing a total of 9,650 m² of forest. Thanks to the young participants in the ‘Bee Happy Run’ children's race, 12,120 m² of new bee pastures were created around Vienna.
Climate protection only works together
Part of the entry fees therefore went to sustainable projects in South Sudan that support local communities and reduce deforestation. In addition, the Vienna Fire Brigade Youth and Disaster Relief Service received €1,500 as a contribution to local solidarity.
In addition to the sporting effort, the run was also a sign of commitment and solidarity. Music, applause and prominent supporters such as Cesár Sampson and Andreas Vojta accompanied the runners. Our Windfluencer Valerie Huber was also there and was one of the Climate Run Ambassadors. A perfect mix of exercise and fun.

As one of the main sponsors of the Vienna Climate Run, we were proud to be part of this fantastic event. A big thank you to all the runners and supporters, because only together can we shape a sustainable future. The Vienna Climate Run showed on this day that sport and commitment can achieve great things.
